MODULE 3

This concept of collaborative sharing and editing of documents will be the next big thing. I can see many valuable uses for this at school and play. I wish this was available to the Athletics committee I belong, as it would have eliminated several hundred emails where everyone would add there "valuable" opinion recopied in its entirety each time.

As Amanda said about the report writing use of google docs, it would help not only stage Maths/English but where I job share too. We have gone to many lengths over the years each careful to add our comments so not to eliminate the others changes. This would really be good for us as we could collaborate our ideas at home but even together. Over the years our ideas and opinions on our children have been so alligned that this would be reassuring to see that backed up on a document as we can't always confer on each detail.

And anything that reduces meeting times-must be good!
I'd love to see it in use in an older class in all its glory.

Until the next exciting adventure.
Cheers Janine

  2. Dear Janine,
From one novice to another, YES it is like wearing that new outfit BUT thinking,"Have I got it right?" Is this really a good fit?
Perhaps the more you "wear" it the more comfortable you get.
Hint:- the more you 'blogg' the better you get. Just keep on going!!

  3. Great blogging Janine! I think the possiblities of Googledocs is endless! You should take the lead with the athletics committee and let them know that there is a better way to orgnaise information.... GOOGLE DOCS TO THE RESCUE!!

I have been reading a few of our Blogs about Google Docs and think that we all agree that they definately have a place in education for teachers to collaborate and communcate. I would be happy to bring this to the executive team and see what they have to say. Luckly two three of them are part of the Web2.0 Breakfast Club!!

Thanks for all of the entertaining blogs Janine!

    See you on Thursday!

  4. Hi Janine, you are correct, collaboratively created documents are the next big thing...just ask Microsoft who have enabled Google Docs-like features in their new version of Office. This whole idea of 'cloud computing' should really take of when we have our bandwidth problems solved.

  5. Janine, I'm all for using Google Docs for report grade and comment collaboration. As a fellow "job sharer" I totally understand what you're saying! It would definitely make life a whole lot easier! I agree with Amanda about your Athletics Committee- you should certainly take the plunge!
